About Me – My Story

I remember years ago how I felt shortly after having my son whilst on Maternity Leave.  On one hand I wanted to be at home with him the whole time and not miss one part of his growing up, not one single cheeky smile.  On the other hand my brain was severely craving stimulation, the sort of stimulation you can only get through working.

At that point I had no idea how much going back to work full time would affect me.

My heart filled with dread when it was time for me to eventually return to work one year later. I couldn’t imagine working all day and being away from home. Away from my baby.  I tried to go back part-time but they wouldn’t allow me to, they needed me full time or not at all.

We had truly bonded, my son and I, how would we both cope spending so many hours apart? My life was so different after one year of being a Mum, the prospect horrified me.

Unfortunately I was not in a situation where I had a choice.  I had mixed feelings over the next few weeks – it was good to get back to work and back to my old life except it didn’t feel the same as my old life because I had my little man on my mind all day.  The hunger had weakened, I had other things to think about as well as my job, I had my son – I worked a good couple of hours distance away from him which also didn’t help.

I worked as a National Account Manager for a market leading company and there were some really early morning starts, sometimes late finishes and even worse, overnight stays away from home now and then. All the things I used to thrive on had now become all the things I hated about the job, because I had become a Mum – but like I said, I didn’t have a choice.

Why Did I Set Up Connected Mamma?

During those next few years trying to relentlessly juggle my busy work life and being with my son I tried so hard to come up with ideas so that I could earn a good wage whilst being more available for my son. The fact of the matter was I had huge full-time nursery fees to pay, my wage was a good one and there wasn’t anything available to me which offered the flexibility or the income which I so desperately wanted and needed.

I tried Online Surveys, thinking I could eventually earn good money if I did enough of them – in reality it was never going to happen. They pay so little and I would have needed to spend a lot more time completing surveys to earn a fraction of what I was earning – I would have seen my son even less!

I did an on-line proof-reading course but couldn’t get any freelance jobs as it turns out experience and years in the business get you chosen for work before they consider newbies.

Every evening when Jay was sleeping I would rack my brains trying to come up with inventions – I have seen several stay-at-home Mums on Dragon’s Den successfully developing fantastic products that us Mums didn’t even know we needed until they invented them. Why couldn’t I think of anything! The only thing I thought of was some sort of nose warmer when walking outside in Winter. It seemed like a great idea until a friend said to me, “isn’t that what a scarf or balaclava is for?” I had to admit, it was a fair point.

I was constantly on the look out for an alternative work life, I Googled every day and every night – but it was to be years before I found the opportunity.

I set up Connected Mamma so that other Mums don’t have the dilemma that I had. There are more opportunities available now. Yes most are still scams with the promise of Getting Rich Quick where only the person whose site it is gets rich on duping everybody else!  But it’s the ones which don’t promise speedy wealth for doing nothing that are worth looking into.  The age-old saying “if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is” couldn’t be more spot on.

So I’m here to help those of you who are looking for a way to achieve a flexible, working from home alternative which offers the opportunity to earn a fantastic income which can build into a life changing income if you want it to.

Alternatively treat it as a sideline and earn some additional income to help things along. This is not in any way a “get rich quick” scheme. You have to put the work in but it’s fun and believe me, it becomes addictive.  Imagine waking up in the morning and you’ve earned money while you were sleeping! It can’t get better than that surely?

I promise you, the money is there to be earned if you are willing to put the time and effort in for it.  The earning potential is uncapped but it will not be a quick win.  It’s not a sprint – it’s a marathon!  But wow, the winnings will make it worthwhile.  The life flexibility will make it worthwhile.

What is this fun way of making money from home?

It is Affiliate Marketing.

Dictionary Definition of Affiliate Marketing:  a marketing arrangement by which an online retailer pays commission to an external website for traffic or sales generated from its referrals.

Have a good look around the site and make up your own mind. There is no hard sell, if you want it then go for it – everything that you need to succeed is available to you. I wish somebody had been there to offer me this opportunity back then.
